HCL Domino Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Centralized Documentation Repository for Notes Client Eclipse Preference Settings (Managed Settings)

Centralized Documentation Repository for Notes Client Eclipse Preference Settings (Managed Settings)

Administrators frequently need to customize the HCL Notes Standard Client to modify UI, enforce branding, or disable specific features (e.g., Live Text, Sidebar panels, Open List behavior) via Desktop Policies or plugin_customization.ini.

However, there is currently no central repository that lists the available Managed Settings.

We request that HCL publish a reference library (Knowledge Base article or Developer Doc) listing the supported HCL-specific Eclipse Preferences.

Ideally, this would be a table containing:

  1. Plugin Name (e.g., com.ibm.notes.calendar)

  2. Parameter/Key Name (e.g., ShowTimeSlot)

  3. Data Type (String/Boolean/Int)

  4. Description (What UI element this controls)

We understand that HCL cannot document every standard org.eclipse parameter (as that is open source). However, we request documentation for the HCL-proprietary namespaces, specifically:

  • com.ibm.notes.* / com.hcl.notes.* (Core Client features)

  • com.ibm.rcp.* (Rich Client Platform topology)
