There is to some extent a solution to the problem with checking Out of Office status for other users in existence. In the OnTime Group Calendar Freemium that we offer in partnership with HCL, you can both check the status and by using roles even control the status for other users. This would require a feature added to the calendar integration with Notes. Does the Notes client provide a quick view or status of a user's Out of Office status? Or is it a calendar preference available when scheduling a meeting?
Combined with a group, you could display the out-of-office status of your team on a single view.
