Status icon for various clients

In the previous versions the icon next to a user name, changed according to the kind of device he was connected with. Now in V11 even if the user is connected with a mobile device, the icon is always the same, e.g the green square. I understand that having a icon specific for mobile makes less sense now, since a user can be connected with both a mobile device and a desktop client, but if there was a preference to show the kind of connection, maybe configurable on/off, it could be useful; e.g. I would not send a .doc file to a user connected with his phone if I knew he's on a mobile device.

You need to add a status icon for "active sametime meeting" when a user is within a sametime meeting.

To build on the comment from yesterday, there should also be a way to allow the Administrator to globally allow/disallow the end user from having the option to change the icon.

The design change to keep the icon the same across all clients does support the enablement of persistent chat and multiple connected clients.

The enhancement request here should be updated to allow the end user the "option" of using mobile device icon when the most recent connection is a mobile client. Some users may want to hide this icon when using mobile client, while others will want it displayed to share their current location.

In summary, the option to choose if a mobile icon should be displayed to the community should be on the end user in future versions.

This is by design, with our v11 release and the changes around it for persistent chat. I do get your viewpoint to know what type of device to decide if you can send a .doc file is valid since we don't support file transfer on mobile yet. We do have internal tickets rasied for it and will look into making this experience better for future releases. For now, we would recommend the user should go ahead and send it if on v11 client since it is persistent chat and the user can view it once back to the web client.
