It is expected out of the Sametime to respond to the user with a hint/notice to refine the search instead of not giving any result when a user has typed something in the web client or client application in contact search bar. As this would give a sense that the application is not working properly.
Expected Behaviour:
===================
In general, when a user has typed in something over the web chat or client applications contact search bar. Sametime doesn't do anything.
- Ideally with maximum applications there is an error or a appropriate result getting displayed.
- With Sametime nothing happens and from the user's, perspective this gives a sense that the application is not working properly and he will seek for further troubleshooting.
- And this is noticed escpecially where there is a limitation set for the returned amount of results and thus nothing happens in the search!
- On the other hand not to overload the user with results when you limit the returned amount to 100.
e.g. In your directory if you have more than 200 results, when you search for "test" or any common kind of name, then it would take you through a huge list of results.
-Thus It is expected out of the Sametime to respond to the user with a hint/notice to refine the search instead of not giving any result when a user has typed something in the web client or client application in contact search bar. As this would give a sense that the application is not working properly.
