When sending a mail being able to sharing a file from Connections Community

As a user with the Verse on Premise interface I want to be able to share a link to a file in a community within a mail.

Today, it is only possible to share links to files which are my files or shared with me or are in folders shared with me ...

It is not possible to share a file that is within a community. Usually we save files in communities and not as personal files to having the ownership in the group and not by individuals.

In case I send the mail to someone not allowed to access that community he might get the usual "you're not allowed" info when clicking on the link. That would be good enough.

Good question. Why not use comments with @mentions? Because there are numerous situations and use cases where it simply makes sense writing an email and then putting the link to dedicated files (or folders) into that mail.
Btw, if you follow that advice then you don't need that connections files integration in vop at all. But the use case exists and it should simply be extended so that it covers files where they should belong to in a collaborative environment - community files.

Why don’t you simply move to that file in Connections (navigation would be necessary for sharing anyway) and mention the receiver so that he gets a notification to look at that file? „Send less emails“ seems more important to me than „make email one more time more convenient“.
