HCL Domino Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Don't always use an idea's vote count to prioritise work

Just because an idea has a low vote count doesn't make it less urgent. For example, "drag & drop support to re-order LS functions & subs" (DDXP-I-363) is more useful than "Show LotusScript variables that are declared, but not used" (IDEAAD-I-63).

On the flip side, consider implementing ideas with a high vote count before adding new features. For example, "Remove 32k limit for text-fields" has more votes than all of the new javascript editor ideas combined, but you went ahead and implemented a new Javascript editor.

More popular doesn't always equal more useful...

The vote count is only one point of reference. We will promote good ideas independent of the vote count. For the 32k limit, this idea is not just one feature. It is multiple changes in all kinds of different areas of the product in order to address that. From the storage layer (NSF) to memory handling, to scripting, templates, etc. so even if it has lots of votes, it cant be implemented over night.

Hmmm. What would you suggest how to measure "usefulness".
