Keep xPages alive Merged

I think xPages is a great product. I am using it since the beginning. Of course there are currently good ideas (like node.js) but what we need is a good web development platform for Domino/Notes. If you think about react.js, node.js, etc. .. my question as customer and developer: why should I use domino/notes in the future? And not go for any other platform?

The success of Domino/Notes is RAD. That is (and was) the strength of Notes-Applications for the Notes-Client, since decades! Why throwing this away? Of course, developing applications with xPages takes more time as classical Notes-development, but the possibilities (compared to classic notes-dev) are endless.

So please IBM/HCL listen to the xPages-communities and the developers. Domino/Notes without modern userfriendly web application-development is the death of the whole product range.

To be fair, to me alive means supported and have tons of enhancement. So by that standard, Notes Client development is not dead but not alive either. XPAGE seemed to be more or less heading in the same direction. I don't see the support going away any time soon but to be fair I can't expect HCL to make a commitment to enhance it if their effort is better spent elsewhere.
