Users need to reset their Password

Users have the capability to "Change Password"... see attached "HCL Change Password.png"

However, if they have forgotten their password, they need to be able to Reset it. I wrote this up in the Nomad Forum, and was advised to create an entery here

    We have followed the instructions in https://support.hcltechsw.com/community?id=community_Question&sys_id=e8c5ad3c87c81a585440c9d8cebb35d4 to set up the Password reset functtion.

    However, I think we are confusing two diffferent capabilities:

    Users are sometimes mandated to change their passwords. Nomad has that ability now... see above.

    What we need is the ability to reset their password, because they have fogotten it. In the Instructions, point #7 says "Log into the HTTP Server"... but in this case, they do not know their password to Log In!

    Thoughts?

    I think we agree that the ability for a User to reset their password is absolutely required.

    But, I'm confused about the status of that function.

    1. My Idea is categorised as "Future Consideration"

    2. According to the Github disclaimer in the attached link, the solution suggested by Thomas is not supported by HCL.

    3. The 2nd link states that "A Domino® server comes with the Sample Web Agent - Reset User Password application (PwdResetSample.nsf)". This suggests that the function is supported now.

    Clarification would be appreciated.

    We are just about to start testing the approach outlined in Thomas's entry. Does the change of Status to "Future consideration" suggest that we should wait for a future development byHCL?

    You can set up the self service password reset app, a sample application is provided with Domino.
