Move to Password field in Login Dialog

Something that bothers me since years:

On the initial "Login to HCL Notes" dialog, that prompts for the Notes password, after selecting another location, the focus does not go back to the password field. So, I have to use <tab> or the mouse to set the focus.

My suggestion is to set the focus to the password field once a new location had been selected. After changing the location, the next logical step it to enter the password for the ID linked to that location.

I know, it's only a very small thing, but increases usability.

I would appreciate moving the cursor to the password field automatically. It may complicate the choice of location from the keyboard, but it is rarely used.

If the user now enters the password immediately after selecting the location, the location is searched for each character entered, so that a secret password is displayed on the screen one by one (if there are enough locations from different letters in the menu).

Changing the order of fields in a dialog that has been used by millions of users for decades is not a good idea.

And maybe the fields order should be changed :

      Username / Location / Password

      or

      Location / Username / Password
