Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

You are right Tinus. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to change minds/work habits/get management support, ... .
Does your users really need to access email from 1 year or 2 years ago ? How frequent to they need to access those "old email" ? Please tell them that once their mail db exceed 5 GB then the risk of said NSF to become corrupted increased exponentially. Have you experience long period of consistency check when the server crash and rebooted ?
Can you implement DAOS and / or some type of file sharing like Connections files or Box so that those users stop sending and receiving large attachment ?
Bottom line is, your email is not the only way you communicate so it does not make sense to kept everything in your mail database.

No, our users will not welcome auto-archive. This will make them blame with us "Why my email archived and unable to see via client /webmail suddenly!"
Is ti possible for you to implement archiving policy ? IMHO it seemed that you can benefit more from an automatic archiving rather than patching a hole.
