This would be a great idea. Then I can dump my windows OS.
Number of Linux users is growing. Linux already have most required software like Open/Libre Office, browsers, image editors, database clients, alternative e-mail clients. Missing Notes client is another reason why to move from Domino to free mail servers. Quite strange why Domino/Notes owners is going to lose share of market.
In other words - Notes on Linux - must be implemented and supported.
We do have Linux laptops in our organization. It would be a great releaf to run Notes Admin/Designed natively on Linux.
This would be a great plus for the Domino/Notes world.
A web browser admin client would resolve the problem: harder for designer. At the very least, perhaps strengthen the offering here: https://domino4wine.com/ which may resolve many of the concerns from the HCL side.
It will be lovely.
Yes right. my customer strongly want to have a designer/admin client on macOS
Forget Linux... for Mac, it’s really painful that it hasn’t been done yet. But then again, the Mac eclipse client is a constant loosing battle... not sure how to finally end the constant freezes and spinning wheel on the Mac...
I have a Linux only shop. Not having a native admin client or designer is a problem for my company. I would settle for a platform independent implementation.
Designer and Admin should be regular Eclipse plugins that work on any Eclipse platform. This way Admin would even work on Android.

We are a Notes/Domino customer in the media/art environment. We use mostly Mac workstations, and have our utility workstations either Mac or Linux. I'm the only Mac user left running VMware Fusion for my various MS Windows only programs. Having two less to need Fusion would be great. Ideally, I'd want the clients to be separate, allowing my admin client to use my "admin id" instead of my regular "user id". I am very okay if my admin client is web-based. Most of my other open-source servers are web-based managed. To have Domino be managed from the web client would not be foreign. I haven't used the existing Web-admin client though, because it's too limiting, and hasn't been updated for modern security w/o Java (just JavaScript)

Linux Notes client got no updates since FP7, so Client, Admin and Designer please.
In my eyes Client and Designer would be fine. Admin could be a webservice.
Probably it's time to get platform independent and create both as web applications.
