Definitely Domino needs modern, good looking templates for applications (for Notes client and web).
I couldn't agree more with the last comment, the reference material for learning is atrocious and sadly often lazy of without empathy for those learning. The last decent publication was Red Book - A Developers Handbook Designer 6. Developers are now left with the fragmented contributions from the community. The on-line help has become progressively worse, with mere non-descriptive statements rather than, how, or why one would use a property, method or feature. They need to be re written from the perspective of those who need to learn rather than as a reference for those who already know.
Moving to Domino Designer category
Sample apps should be samples of individual elements, without a developer having to dig through multiple layers of computed design, computed panels, computed datasources, computed navigators, computed labels, and so on. Show us just what the sample is and hard code everything else.
