Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

I have two other customers requesting this too. It is annoying to them, that the window with the list of conversations open automatically. How about a message indicator somewhere that shows the number of unread messages. Then they can click on it and the list of conversations will open. It would be a bit like email. You click on the email button and then you see the messages. So clicking on a Sametime messages button to open all conversations.
I think it's indeed the annoying pop-up that opens when you login to Sametime that shows your previous chats. According to support the only way to get around that is disabling persistent chat. Having a simple preference (that I can manage using policies) to disable the pop up would already be perfect.
I think the Requester wants to be able to suppress the Sametime Chat Window containing all Chats + History that automatically loads on Notes Startup if you autologin to the Sametime Server on Startup. So basically the "old" behaviour (just login to Sametime, display the Sametime Contacts list in the sidebar, but do not automatically open the Chat Window)
I dont understand the request... is it
a) ability to disable pop-up message for every new chat? This can be configured already in the Notes client preferences, under Sametime/Notifications
b) ability to disable the chat history completely?
This can be done by disabling persistent chat https://help.hcltechsw.com/sametime/11.5/admin/persistent_chat_policies.html
c) ability for end user to not get any previous message displayed when opening a new chat with the same person. => This is the oppisite of what customers have requested. Why do you not want the previous chat history to be displayed? Most other instant messaging tools do the same
