Windows 10, Notes 9.0.1FP7
When dragging a mail document out of the Notes Client window a local eml-file is produced in the "/ibm/notes/data/workspace/.metadata/.plugins/com.ibm.rcp.csiviews" folder.
On a linux-system you can see the link to that file in the clipboard when checking the possible data flavours. In the following examples you see the results from a linux system clipboard with notes 9.0.1.
MimeType text/uri-list; class=java.lang.String; charset=Unicode
file:///home/mxxxxxx/ibm/notes/data/workspace/.metadata/.plugins/com.ibm.rcp.csiviews/R%C3%BCckruf.eml
MimeType text/uri-list; class="[B"; charset=US-ASCII
MimeType application/x-java-serialized-object; class=java.lang.String
notes:///C12578E20036BBDB/4B75A35B5C1FE7DE482572F4002B516C/B7A5C34BC4B25FFCC1258408002AB0B2?opendocument
MimeType text/plain; class=java.lang.String; charset=Unicode
notes:///C12578E20036BBDB/4B75A35B5C1FE7DE482572F4002B516C/B7A5C34BC4B25FFCC1258408002AB0B2?opendocument
We use the file-url to load the eml-file into another system. Problemfree, since several years.
However, on a Windows 10 system, that file-url is not in the clipboard contents, only the notes-urls are shown. That means, that on Windows 10, the drop event of Notes has a different behaviour. This is a question for development. Is there any setting we can configure (for instance in the plugin-customization.ini or such) to change the behaviour in dropping an eml-file and/or the clipboard contents?
Actually we can not see why the behaviour of the dropping event/ clipboard content is different between a linux and a windows 10 system.
Both systems and notes clients are of same version and settings.
Maybe development has some more insights or ideas.
Just had a look into the user's roaming data in a customer environment and found roamingdata.nsf databases with sizes more than 1GB because of many eml-files stored in /data/workspace/.metadata/.plugins/com.ibm.rcp.csiviews
Next Client version should automatically cleanup all *.eml files stored here.
We have found an additionnal problem - Windows 10 , Notes 9.01 FP10 - the eml Files located in the "/ibm/notes/data/workspace/.metadata/.plugins/com.ibm.rcp.csiviews" folder are roamed (Notes Roaming) - and the roamingdata.nsf gets quit big respective to the total amount of emlf files e.g containing attachments etc. this is quit an issue and we have problems with Notes Clients with big roamingdata.nsf
