You really should not do that. Copying the cache could extremly slow down the installation. (Maybe that's why so many people complain about slow clients).

And: What you say is technically (nearly) ok. But lots of software does somethink like this 'as default'. Nothing that has to be done in an addtional step by using ohter software. And this is in my opionion the problem of notes. With notes you got a very large set of tools and you must know how to use these tools. This is ok if you are an admin or a developer. But most end users just want to use notes to do their daily work. They want to do something and they won't have to ask how or to think a long time. They just want to press a button and then it should be done.
Just copy the 'C:/Users/<user>/AppData/Local/IBM/ folder to the new computer, after installing Notes as a multi-user client. Strictly speaking, this should already be part of the user's backup data set (on a separate storage device, e.g. dedicated NAS), for recovery purposes. I frequently do a restore from the last backup to a new computer when upgrading/replacing someone's PC.
